Wow what an amazing hidden venue set in the Surrey Hills. I was delighted when I received a christening enquiry and I had heard about this venue from the very talented photographer I work with David Long. I thought this maybe the perfect venue for my christening party. He has two weddings there this year and he simply raved about the place. I drove through Bramley such a quaint and picturesque village then up onto the single track road signposted Gate Street Barn. The little track took my breath away with a blanket of bluebells greeting me as I drove through the stunning countryside – what an amazing setting to this traditional style rustic barn. What is also so unique about this property is that it was built using the wood from the Oak trees that were destroyed in the hurricane of 1987. Jane Hutley the owner of Gate Street Barn showed me around this lovely venue and then we stopped for a chat. I was surprised about how reasonable the prices were to rent the venue exclusively. The caterer’s they work with are of an extremely high standard and have all been approved by Jane and her team. The barn itself can seat up to 130 seated guests for a formal dinner and 180 for a less formal occasion. What was also fantastic is that there is no corkage charge which is definitely a unique selling point for this venue. It is also licensed for civil ceremony’s and partnerships.
